This is petition to the Bristol TN City Council asking them to fire and replace Bristol City Manager Kelli Burgeois. She recommended raising our taxes by 50% average for the city to increase funding for dilapidated equipment replacement, employee raises, and hiring more personnel. When we had our first instance where the city could have really put their dollars where their mouth is, it has been a complete failure as Public Works employees had to work long hours due to understaffing and poor equipment, and some main roads remained unclear 2 days after snowfall. We need a new City Manager for Bristol TN who is ethical, can balance a budget, and follow through with their excuse for exorbitant tax increases! According to the math from a 2025 interview with the city manager, the city increased their tax revenue by nearly $60million USD (assuming the city was contributing $5million for the baseball stadium as she stated, and it cost $0.025 of the tax rate in her according to her public statements). We now have a non-profit cooperation that wants the city manager on the board to funnel more money in her pocket (can still get paid from gross income for "reasonable" billable hours), and she is paid more than most Tennessee City Managers. She needs to be replaced by someone who is local to Bristol, and actually cares about and knows their neighbors!
