Dr. Anna Battle has single handedly destroyed the JROTC program within CGUHSD. Because of her actions of reducing the instructors pay by a minimum of $26k per year the instructors have decided to leave their positions. At the school board meeting on Aug 9, 2022, Dr. Battle lied to the community by saying she did not cut the instructors pay, but put a letter out on Aug 13, 2022 saying she did cut their pay. She also told the community that she was not aware of the instructors stepping down until July when she in fact knew they had not signed their contracts in May of 2022. This problem began in January 2022, but she decided to keep all of this from the students and the community of CGUHSD. The JROTC program is a much needed program for these students and our community. It not only teaches these students love of Country, but it teaches them responsibility, self worth, discipline and fitness. These students put a lot of volunteer time in working with the community for fund raisers. One of these find raisers is Toys For Tots. These students put in over 1000 hours working this fund raiser alone every year. This program gives these students a place where they belong when they do not feel they belong anywhere else.  Statistically, students within a JROTC program have higher graduation rates and higher grade point averages.

The JROTC is not the only reason we want her gone as the Superintendent. In a time that we already have a shortage of teachers in the entire state of Arizona, we had over 100 teachers not renew their contracts for the 2022-2023 school year from the high school district alone. She has proven she lies and she has proven she cannot keep these positions filled due to her incompetence. Because of her incompetence in this position the students of CGUHSD are being deprived learning in an environment with qualified teachers. We as a community are requesting the school board to fire Dr. Anna Battle from her position for these reasons. 

If Dr. Anna Battle is not fired, we as a community will have no choice but to do a recall vote on any member that votes to keep her in her position. We will be forced to do this because you as a governing board are not looking out for what is best for our students.
