Fire Columbia University Faculty Who Support Terrorists

The Issue

On October 30th over 100 faculty at Columbia University signed an open letter where they called the horrific terrorist attacks by Hamas and others on mostly Israeli civilians a "military response" and unilaterally blamed Israel for the conditions that led to this brutal massacre.

In doing so they legitimized targeting civilians. The legitimized the ripping of fetuses from their mother's bellies and stabbing them. They legitimized the wholesale slaughter of mostly young men and women who were enjoying a party. They legitimized  the binding and burning of children while alive. They legitimized the severing of digits and limbs of victims while they were alive. They legitimized butchering children in front of their parents. They legitimized butchering parents in front of their children. They legitimized the slaughter of the elderly, the infirmed and disabled. They legitimized decapitations. They legitimized rape. They legitimized torture. They legitimized kidnapping of the elderly, women, men, children and babies.

Legitimizing such actions exhibits a gross lack of moral compass and critical thinking. It is appalling and unacceptable. Their inability to distinguish between legitimate resistance, even armed resistance, and horrific crimes against humanity is shocking and disturbing.

People who are incapable of making such distinctions, who are morally bankrupt and incapable of critical thinking do not belong in the classroom, they do not belong on the faculty of a place of higher learning, they should not be teaching our next generation.

This is not about free speech. It's not about expressing opinions or the robust debate of ideas. It's not even about anti-semitism. It is about a shocking lack of judgement, critical thinking and morals.

Each and every faculty member who displayed this appalling lack of judgement, lack of character, lack of critical thought, and utter moral bankruptcy must be fired immediately. Our children deserve better.
