My personal connection to this issue stems from my time at Rossview High School. During my freshman year, Coach Luce was our coach, and unfortunately, I experienced firsthand his predatory behavior toward students, who were also minors. His actions were harmful, leaving a lasting impact on me and others around me. This year, Coach Luce transferred to Montgomery Central, and reports have emerged that his unacceptable behavior continues to persist. It has also been noted that he has had intercourse with five students at my high school that I graduated from. I was in his gym class in my freshman year and I had a bigger chest than what girls would normally have at my age. We would have to do warm ups everyday before we start a class and I was doing jumping jacks near the bleachers in the corner because every other space was taken, he would always stare at me and smirk and I know he was staring at me because there was nobody around me. He was also accused of watching pornographic material that involved minors on his school laptop. He has been known to make predatory comments about underage girls' bodies telling a girl "you could do so much in life and get somewhere with that beautiful chest", this is a comment that he made towards an underage girl when he attended my high school. Montgomery Central administration is fully aware of these allegations, yet they choose to turn a blind eye to the disturbing actions of Coach Luce. This is unacceptable, and it signals a system that refuses to protect its students and allows a person, who should be a role model, to exploit his position. It's not just me; victims are bravely coming forward to share their experiences. It requires immense courage to speak out against wrongdoing, especially when the environment seems complicit. We cannot sit back and allow these voices to go unheard. The safety and well-being of students must be the foremost priority. Coach Luce's continuous presence within this system poses a threat to that safety. Therefore, it's imperative that we demand immediate action to have him removed from Montgomery Central and ensure he is no longer in a position to harm students. We also urge a thorough investigation into how he was able to transfer schools despite his problematic history and call for systemic change to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. The administration at Montgomery Central must take responsibility and action, showing that they prioritize student safety above all else. Our students deserve to learn and grow in a safe environment, free from any threat of exploitation or harm. We are not asking for donations, but for accountability, CMCSS put Matthew Vedder under investigation for showing nude photos, so why can't Nathan Luce be investigated for sexually harassing and sexually assaulting students? So many women have been harmed by his actions, including myself. No 14 year old girl should have to go to school and worry that her gym coach is going to sexualize her every single day. CMCSS, do the right thing and get this staff member out of your school system, we are demanding that accountability and action is taken. Montgomery Central has also kicked my best friend out for speaking out about the situation because they know everything that he has done and continues to hide it knowing that my best friend has had no other school lined up.
