This is the second year in a row that I've had the unfortunate reality of having Brett Weathers as my Spanish teacher. He was my third period the first year, but this year he is my first. In my almost 2 years of Lincoln, I have never heard a single positive thing about him from any one student. Never. It's always about the negative traits he harbors which he then projects onto his classes. He treats all his classes as if we were the kindergartners he once taught all those years ago. His teaching practices wouldn't be terrible if we were all 5, but all his classes have freshmen through seniors present. Over the past 2 years, I have learned virtually no Spanish in any of his classes. He might try to maintain the vision that our learning nothing, is our own fault but it really isn't. Each class starts out with a "hora de Biblioteca" (meaning: library hour) for around 10 minutes, then for the remainder of the period he rambles on at the front of the classroom giving the worst lectures a human might ask for. Once the class is over, he expects everyone to complete the online homework he assigns virtually every day which is generally extremely difficult and horribly written. I'm creating this petition to draw awareness to the awful teaching practices of Mr. Weathers to better Lincoln's future and Spanish program, as I believe it can better teach and immerse our future students in the beautiful language of Spanish.
