Fire Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Mike Sampson

The Issue

Northeastern’s Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Mike Sampson, is destroying the Greek Life community — and we’re fed up.

What was once a vibrant, supportive, and safe network of student organizations is now under constant threat — not because of bad actors within the community, but because of the unchecked overreach of one administrator. Mike Sampson has taken it upon himself to sabotage the very students he claims to support.

Instead of working with chapters to ensure safe and successful events, he has repeatedly restricted, punished, and silenced them without cause or transparency. Minor infractions — things that could easily be resolved with dialogue — are escalated into full-blown disciplinary actions. His go-to response? OSCCRs and blanket bans. It's punitive, arbitrary, and completely out of touch with what this community needs.

Now, as Marathon Monday approaches — one of the biggest and most celebrated days for Northeastern students — Mike has shut everything down. No warning. No discussion. Just a sweeping ban on all Greek Life activities.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t about safety. If it were, he’d be working with us to ensure events are well-managed and compliant. Instead, by banning registered events, he’s making things worse. Students will still gather — but now they’ll do it without oversight, without safety measures, and without the accountability that FSL is supposed to provide.

Mike Sampson’s actions aren’t just heavy-handed — they’re dangerous. It’s time to hold him accountable and demand leadership that actually supports and respects the community it oversees.
