Lolita, a young Saudi woman who sought refuge in Australia from a life of abuse, has been forcibly taken from her Melbourne apartment and has disappeared. Lolita was taken back to Saudi Arabia against her will. We need your help to bring her back to safety.

As Lolita's human rights lawyer, I can attest to her desperate desire to remain in Australia. She fled from unimaginable horrors perpetrated under Saudi Arabia’s male guardianship system. This system treats women as children and creates an environment in which gendered violence goes unchecked. Lolita’s plight is not just a personal tragedy but an example of foreign interference that impacts vulnerable individuals seeking safety in Australia.

Foreign interference like this must be stopped. Women deserve to feel safe and secure, free from the threat of being forcibly returned to dangerous environments. The Australian government must ensure that women at risk like Lolita are placed on an airport watch list and that those seeking asylum receive the protection and support they need.
