A woman's existence, most especially her chastity is one of the things everyone must value without question. Any form of sexual act without her genuine consent is considered as abusive, and is specifically categorized as rape.

The Republic Act 8353 under Article 266, Section C is a law existing in the Philippines talking about how marriage between the offender and the victim gives lenience to the crime committed which clearly disregards the fact of how rape works. 

Rape, a single yet very powerful word defines the act of disrespecting and abusing a woman's chastity, which indeed is misinterpreted by many. Once a female of age is forced to get involved in any sexual activity without her willingness or consent, and most especially when it is done with a minor who clearly does not have the right mind to engage in such act, is considered to be a deed of rape whatever circumstances occurred; therefore, all of this boiled down, anyone who commits to rape deserves no pardon.  

Talking about consent, it should not be identified as an agreement resulting from any form of convincing or forcing. Consent is not the absence of "no" or even how a woman dresses and expresses herself. In simpler words, the word "consent" is an acquiescent agreement that is required before the all act is done. 

All of these implies only one thing - all of what the Filipino women deserve is misinterpreted and much worse disregarded, making this petition one of the ways to stimulate women empowerment. By signing this, it is guaranteed that a lot of lives will be saved and justice will be served in the right hands.
