Using of Baybayin or Alibata in schools

The Issue

Using Baybayin or Alibata will help each one of the Filipinos to remember our culture and our history.

First, what is a 'Baybayin' or 'Alibata'?
Baybayin is an ancient writing used by the Filipinos during the early Spanish conolization. In addition to this, Baybayin is also an approved 'National Writing System' of our country, The Philippines, which is the House Bill 1022.

The House Bill 1022 states that it seeks to “promote, protect, preserve and conserve ‘Baybayin’ as the National Writing System of the Philippines, using it as a tool for cultural and economic development to create a consciousness, respect and pride for the legacies of Filipino cultural history, heritage and the country’s authentic identity.” In reality the bill will only require:
a) food manufacturers to incorporate Baybayin translations into their product labels, b) local governments to include Baybayin names in signage and street names, and c) newspapers and magazines to provide Baybayin translations of their names on their mastheads.

Our purpose for this petition is to share and encourage everyone else to use Baybayin in schools. An example of this is to make the students write their names on every Filipino subject on Baybayin. We can use Baybayin on the students to let them mold with our culture. As what as our Nationa Hero says, "Ang Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan." Let the students learn about our National Wiriting System that helps them to understand and love our culture. Aside from that, it will also promote us being a Filipino and our indigenous people on the Philippines.
