Peace and Blessings.. First off My Name is Breon Davis and for the last 17yrs i've been fighting to prove My innocence. September of 2006 at the young age of 20 I was booked into the County Jail to fight First Degree Murder Charges. Already both(2) of My alleged co-defendants were already locked up and indicted on these same charges. We all maintained our innocence. 2months later November of 2006 We started our joint trial for this murder charge. Even thow the 3 of Us had different lawyers, We had the Same Judge, State's Attorney and most importantly the same Jury. Our trial lasted several days within those days there was evidence provided by the State as well as evidence on our behalf. The main thing about the State's evidence was they admitted that they “did not know" who actually shot and killed the victim but at the end of trial explained that they would being using a accountability theory against us claiming somehow we would be held accountable for the actions of each other or for whoever shot and killed the victim. After all evidence the jury returned a verdict of Guilty for Me Breon Davis and not guilty for both of My co-defendants. These inconsistent verdicts raised eyebrows being that the State admitted they don't know who actually committed this crime and that we all denied any involvement and provided alibi witnesses. There is no way 2 out of the 3 charged should of went home it should have been all 3 especially when the State “could not" prove beyond a reasonable doubt who personally committed this crime. So now We have to ask who am I accountable for? When both co-defendants were acquitted. I am now in the process of a appeal in which a Evidentiary Hearing was given to Me I would like for people to help by signing this petition showing your support in trying to get the relief I deserve. I was sentenced to 50 years in prison. I still maintain My innocence and I hope to get some type of relief soon. Hopefully a re-sentence or a reversal and release.
