Fight for our FORESTS, preserve nature for the next generations!

The Issue

"When we heal our planet, we are healing ourselves."

The loss of trees and other vegetation can result in climate change, desertification, soil erosion, less crops, flooding, higher greenhouse emissions in the atmosphere, and a slew of other issues for humans and animals. Some animals lose their habitats, others lose food supplies, and many cease to exist. In fact, deforestation is one of the leading causes of extinction.

Ending deforestation is our best hope at stabilizing our climate, saving wildlife species, and protecting our well-being. Protecting the forest is our shared obligation, no matter how far away we live from the nearest one.

How to stop deforestation:

1• Fighting illegal logging and limiting logging in old-growth forests;

2 • Protecting forested areas by creating laws and policies that ensure forests are kept protected and restored and betting on land practices such as wildfire corridors;

3• Reforming trade agreements, starting to value differently products obtained through deforestation, and creating incentives for the use of sustainable forestry certifications such as FSC;

4• Educating local communities and tourists about the need to protect forests and develop and enroll in ecotourism activities.

According to new research, when the effects of climate change and deforestation are combined, up to 58 percent of Amazon tree species richness could be lost by 2050, with 49 percent at risk of extinction. If current rates of deforestation continue, the world's rain forests will vanish within 100 years, causing unknown effects on global climate and eliminating the majority of plant and animal species on the planet.

We must put an end to deforestation.

Forests are necessary for life. They serve as our planet's lungs, helping to regulate our climate. They are the second greatest global carbon storage behind the seas. In addition to providing home to up to 80% of land-based species, forests provide a living for more than 1 billion humans.

We must take action.

By saving and restoring forests around the world, mankind can accomplish around one-fifth of the emissions reductions required by 2030 to avoid catastrophic climate change.

We must battle for the preservation of our forests.

We must keep forests intact and standing. We must uphold the rights of frontline, Indigenous communities, and animals as they face the most immediate harm. We must draw a line in the sand: not another forest cleared, not another community’s lands stolen.

We are all in this together.

Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.It's time to wake up and take action.

Stop deforestation to avoid devastation!
