We demand this Government to reverse its decision to scrap the Fees Free Tertiary scheme.

Fees Free has helped to make tertiary education significantly more accessible by reducing the many financial barriers that prevent many New Zealanders from going to University and other tertiary institutions. The scheme gives more people the opportunity to study, regardless of their financial situation. With Fees Free scrapped, many students will now struggle to afford tertiary education or decide not to study at all. This may results in less skilled workers in the future and could make it more difficult for young people to achieve their goals. By keeping fees free, it will help more people gain qualifications, find good jobs, and contribute to New Zealand's economy. For these reasons, we ask parliament to keep the fees free scheme for current and future tertiary students.
