Flood prevention work Mossbank Cowdenbeath

Flood prevention work Mossbank Cowdenbeath

The Issue

Persistent flooding in an area of Mossbank, Cowdenbeath, Fife. A known issue for a few years and causing damage each year when it floods. Drainage action required to take excess water from the road to prevent the street from flooding. Thus negating damaged to properties and allowing residents access to their property without walking through deep water.

The main sewer system is a combined system and clearly cannot cope when the rainfall increases to a certain level which is happening more often. A local resident has suggested a solution for the issue that would be cost-effective and less expensive than replacing the main sewer system. A rainfall attenuation system. however, the Fife Council and the Scottish Water refuse to accept the issue and take responsibility. This petition is to show that action is required as this is an ongoing and regular flood situation. Time for talk is over.
