Fewer Broken Potato Chips — Improve Lays Transportation

Fewer Broken Potato Chips — Improve Lays Transportation
The Issue
It is undeniable that Lays is one of the biggest chip companies in the world. However, potato chips are fragile. There will be broken chips due to manufacturing and transportation needed to supply the demand for chips. Besides the air-to-chip ratio, shattered potato chips are a common complaint among customers. Intact potato chips carry more flavor and delight than broken ones. Lays' product quality will increase if its transportation is improved. Lays may become a more significant part of the chip industry.
The main goal of this petition is to have Lays improve its current shipment process so broken potato chips become less common. Lays can prevent their potato chips from experiencing breakage in multiple ways, either by testing different transportation methods, changing how the bags are packaged, changing how the chips are loaded into the bags, and so on. If Lays does change their method of distributing their chips, it is entirely up to them on what they should improve.
There are plenty amount of ways improvement can occur in transportation. A basic example is loading the packages that hold the bags more efficiently, or placing chip bags into packages more efficiently. Putting packages more efficiently could decrease the amount of movement, lowering the amount of collisions. Another example is using bubble wrap. Inexpensive bubble wrapping will not stop collisions from happening, but it will soften them. An additional example is to add more air, either to the bags or the packages. At first, this seems counterintuitive, because the current biggest complaint is the air-to-chips ratio. However, the air in the bags is supposed to keep the chips fresh and soften collisions. If bubble wrapping proves to be non-profitable, air could be used instead. All in all, there are various ways to improve Lays' transportation. However, we are not engineers or transportation specialists. Some of these ideas may not work.
There are numerous benefits if Lays add more protection to their chips during transport. If more chips stay intact, more customers will be satisfied. Improved transportation may grow the popularity of Lays, and the company’s revenue and reputation may increase. More undamaged potato chips will also carry more diversity between Lays’ different flavors, making each flavor more appreciable and different. Consumers may choose Lays' chips over others.
We want Lays to take a step forward to improving their shipment. They can do this by testing different positive aspects of new transportation ideas. If Lays does improve its transportation, it will have more customer satisfaction. More customer satisfaction will cause Lays to be a more significant part of the chip industry. They will have a higher reputation and more popularity. The sooner this happens, the sooner the outcome. This will not be possible without your signature! You are an important part of this! Make sure to @Lays on social media platforms to spread awareness about this petition, but DO NOT verbally attack them.
