Felt Street Park is a vital community space for social and recreational gatherings, featuring a skateboard park, bocce ball courts, gardens, grassy fields, playgrounds, and picnic benches. Although well-loved and widely used across generations, park enjoyment and utility have been negatively impacted by graffiti and vandalism.  The Felt Street Park Mural Project aims to demonstrate progress toward positive transformation with art that will beautify our public park, encourage stewardship, and celebrate the spirit of our Santa Cruz.

The Felt Street Park Mural Project is a community-driven initiative in partnership with Santa Cruz County Parks and the nonprofit County Park Friends organization.  We have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our shared space by ensuring that Felt Street Park continues to be a welcoming and inspiring environment for all.  To achieve this, we need support from everyone who believes in the power of art to effect positive change.

Letters of support may be emailed to "FeltStParkFriends@gmail.com" and will be included in the application for Santa Cruz County Park's "Just In Time (JIT)" public arts program.

This petition was created by members of local Girl Scout Troop 15000 to research an issue they care about, make a plan to address it, and take action to improve our community as part of their Silver Award project.
