The problem is making a mistake as a teenager and not having the right to bear arms - protect my family- as an adult. We are asking for non-violent offeners have some kind of forgivness option. It is a constitutional right to be able to protect our family. Breaking a law does not make us less human that we deserve no protection.  Serving our punishment should be enough. Should violent offenders be given rights to fire  arms? Probably not, but thats not my business. In fact, if they are still violent law breakers, then odds are they have fire arms anyway. But, for the other group of us, they actually regret our mistakes early in life (non violent) we are law abiding, so we do not illegally own fire arms, we are asking you to make it legal. Like I say, the ones that should not own arms likely already do, I just would like to protect my family from them. Legally. Our justice system is supposed to be working for us. Not against us.  God forgives. People change.
