To Our Representatives,
We live in a country that has the capacity to produce food at world provision levels. There have been reports every year for the past five years about produce not being picked on fields and animals being culled because of a lack of purchasers.
Why are our soldiers not being fed, why is their food allowance not being spent to provide food? Why can’t we have the integrity to provide the most basic of materials to the people who have sworn their lives for the safety and interest of our country?
Why are housing facilities left in unlivable conditions? What are the management of the military doing where they can’t feed, clothe, and keep their troops housed? Has history not taught these folks that armies march on their stomachs and in their boots?  
If the people you have trained to handle weapons for the state are not provided for in their basic needs, those weapons at best will not be raised in defense of that state.
Between the systemic results of poverty in our country, and the failure to care for the enlisted people in our military. It leads the average citizen to wonder if the goal is to cause these people harm purposefully.  
Having worked in the Military Industrial Manufacturing business my entire life. I know there is money available, there is manpower. There are resources that are available to be put towards soldiers, rather than being wasted on frivolous equipment that rarely get used.  
This problem needs fixed, immediately. The very minimum we owe the people who defend our country is food, shelter, clothing and adequate medical care. This is an embarrassment to the character of our nation. And an insult to the civilians whose taxes support the military.
