Support Touch Association Of Singapore as the National Touch Body in Singapore.

Support Touch Association Of Singapore as the National Touch Body in Singapore.
The Issue
Touch Association of Singapore (TAS) was born in late 2015 by a group of long-standing volunteers of the Singapore Touch Community who have played or coached in multiple Touch World Cups and/or contributed largely to the growth and excellence of Touch Football in Singapore.
The formation of TAS was due to the fact that the FIT-appointed Touch administration at that point of time Touch Football Singapore (TFS) has continually failed in their role to grow and develop the sport befitting that of a National Touch Association (NTA).
The success of Singapore and her clubs on the Touch circuit have been due to primarily the work of dedicated volunteers and not of TFS.
TFS have contributed zero support in terms of funding and limited coaching or training resources. Continuous requests for more support have been rejected and instead more costs are levied on every year to increase the barriers of entry to the sport.
Please refer to the following document for further clarification on the failures of TFS (Page 1-2)

This document was submitted to the Federation of International Touch (FIT) January 2016. It clearly spells out the KPIs and goals that TAS have set where TFS have failed.
In 2016, TAS have organised/supported two Leagues, two International Schools Tournaments, National Junior Colleges Championship, POL-ITE, SUnIGs, & ACSIS Championships. More importantly, the participation level in the sport grew exponentially.
From 52 teams in her inaugural league which was higher than whatever TFS has managed, it increased to 76 teams in the subsequent league held in 2nd half of 2016. This growth is unprecedented in Singapore Touch History and can be simply be linked to TAS being a not for profit association and therefore costs were kept to the minimum required.
With her considerable achievements and efforts to development, TAS proceeded to seek acceptance from the Singapore Government to be recognised as the National Body to govern Touch in Singapore which potentially opens opportunities lead to access to resources and official recognition for Singapore International Touch's achievements.
This was achieved on 30 November 2016 when Sport Singapore, the National Governing Body for Sports in Singapore, supported the affiliation and partnership between TAS and Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) to promote and govern the sport of Touch in Singapore.
This recognition was communicated to FIT in TAS' continuous attempts to support the fact that TAS is backed by the community it is democratically elected to represent and the government in Singapore. For the record, over Ninety Eight Percent (98%) of the Touch Community choose to play Touch under the administration and support of TAS.
Disappointingly despite all of TAS' efforts, FIT still continues to support TFS whom ninety eight percent 98% of the Touch Community have zero confidence in and accusing TAS of misinforming and lying about her statements and facts.
The Singapore Touch Community has suffered long enough especially this year (2016), when many of its players including citizens of Singapore have been prevented to play Touch internationally and disappointingly international teams have been banned to play against teams from Singapore including the best of Singapore's talent.
It's time for Singapore to stand up and speak up to support TAS. By signing this Petition, you are supporting the notion to Support TAS as the Singapore's National Touch Body and for FIT to recognise and award international affiliation to TAS.
