The title explains it rather well. It is illegal to provide false information to companies and agencies to scam or trick them. It should be illegal for them to do the same to the general public by faking a telephone number of a random individual. That practice is dishonest and predatory. It is a waste of our time, energy, those of us that have pay-by-minute are being bilked out of the time WE pay for only to find out it's a scam or sales call, and is a general nuisance to the everyperson's peace of mind.
