Help End Guerrilla Marketing

The Issue

Hello, I am with you when you are sick of getting robocalls, texts, telemarketing calls, spam emails, and junk mail (I personally refer to as postal spam) and we all wish that there is a law that would make it all illegal.  The Do Not Call and the Do Not Mail lists are proven ineffective (although if we've been registered for years) because we would continue to get this abuse referred to as guerrilla marketing.  Reporting such numbers are to the Federal Trade Commission for Do Not Call violations are very  ineffective as such callers conceal their true identities.  The Federal Communications Commission recently announced a plan to prevent robocallers from concealing their true identities on our Caller IDs, but more needs to be done.  Being contacted without our consent to receive such marketing communication is still out of control and we all need to be the voice to have guerrilla marketing banned once and for all.

Guerrilla marketing is defined as an advertisement strategy to promote products (including goods and services that are proven to be illegitimate, including  gimmicks and scams) by the means of spam emails, public shopping areas, robocalls, live telemarketing calls, postal  junk mail, texts (with weird content), and popup ads/redirections on various foreign websites that contain gambling and pornographic-laced content, all without the consumer's consent as a low-cost marketing strategy.  In addition, there are scammers representing various federal agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, the Social Security Administration, and the U.S. Department of Education, along with a pattern of phone numbers originating from a specific area code that never talk or begin recording at all.  In addition, websites that promote free gift cards by completing illegitimate offers by providing personal financial information and agreeing to receive spam emails should all be considered a serious federal offense as there is no such thing as a free $1,000 gift card from major retailers.  The purpose of those websites is for them to see you lose money.  Some spam emails are laced with pornographic images that are offensive to recipients who did not sign up in the first place.  Also, credit card companies and nonprofit organiations are also known to send unsolicited mail (to people who have never been affiliated with the company or organization) without consent or providing such information to the agencies.  Ignoring the unsolicited postal mail and phone calls will not stop the offender/organization from attacking consumers.

I would like to see a "Stop Guerrilla Marketing Act" enacted if the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission both lobbied to Congress in an effort to end all forms of unsoliciated marketing communication without the consent of consumers for the purpose of financial deception. In addition, this act should also include Internet censorship of all U.S. Communication systems to block foreign websites that offer free pirated downloads, torrents, and other downloadable materials that are laced with viruses, gambling, and pornographic redirections and popup ads.

In addition, this new law should allow nonprofit organizations to only contact those who only have given them consent to receive marketing communication because a very limited amount of people ONLY will support an organizations purpose. Not everybody agrees with every cause. The new law should also include local elections commissions to only  ask registered voters if they want to receive any campaign phone calls or mailings and to designate the specific political party for the political communication. Many people are tired of hearing about politics, including receiving political robocalls during dinnertime.

The original definition of guerrilla marketing is for corporations and businesses to promote themselves in public places through ads on billboards, buildings,  taxis, public transportation, etc.  Unsolicited marketing communications  should be removed from the original intent of guerrilla marketing.

I, like you all, would like to see a complete end to guerrilla marketing.  I am setting this petition to receive at least one million signatures (I am pretty sure that many Americans are already tired of this abuse.) and for these federal agencies to finally start listening to us.  I am also open to any suggestions of  additional agencies to add. Thank you.

I am sorry that I had to integrate my updated comments onto this main text, not actually plagiarizing the updates.
