Rescind amendments to the PMPRB. They restrict Canadians from life saving medication.
The changes last year to the PMPRB will dramatically effect your ability to access life saving medication, especially if you have a rare disease, such as Cystic Fibrosis.
Pharmas set market prices, then negotiate confidential prices with large brokers, such as a province. This allows them to maintain their price point in the private sector while entering into negotiations with the public sector. If the public sector pricing were to set the private sector pricing, as is prescribed in the changes to the PMPRM set to come into for july 1, 2020, then this would dramatically effect the bottom line, globally of any pharma company considering bringing their product to our shores. Therefore they simply will not enter our market.
These amendments hurt Canadians. They must be rescinded.
