THE PLANET's FUTURE DEPENDS ON CHILDREN's EDUCATION AND MORE...
The Issue
Brazil is known for its varied biodiversity, called the greatest collection of plant and animal species found on the planet, housing 60% of the Amazon Rainforest which hosts approximately one-tenth of all the species in the world.
"Anyone who has been to the Amazon will tell you that nothing quite compares to the sounds of the jungle at night, where nature reigns supreme and those who visit the Pantanal are amazed by the sheer quantity of birds and mammals you can see. While these are two specific areas for wildlife viewing in Brazil, opportunities to get out into nature and see wildlife are by no means restricted to these areas.", as said in https://www.thesouthamericaspecialists.com/what-to-do/nature-and-wildlife/brazil
However, there is still a lot of poverty all around the country.
We know that - along with education - housing, basic sanitation, health and good nutrition are necessary for children to have a healthy life and a good level of learning.
These basis are fundamental not only for efficient learning, but for any child to acquire a feeling of respect and love for their surroundings. And love teaches us to respect the space of other species that have been losing their habitat to us, humans.
In a deeply Christian country, it is worth reflecting on the commandment to multiply and fill the Earth: God said us to fill the Earth, but He gave us wisdom to realize that the Earth was already full by the time we started to take the place of His other important creatures. And we must value God's creation.
It is also worth imagining how much we would still have of forests if China had not implemented strict birth control.
The human being must stop thinking about himself and his own offspring. Everyone must think about Nature - and the poorest should still think in their first two children, avoiding a third one. If humble people themselves do not think about their own children, they cannot expect others to do so. In fact, in this way, they often end up making cheap labor available for enrichment with the sweat of others. The sad past of slavery is enough, when women were forced to have several children to serve "their masters".
Thinking about quality of life, we must consider that we are already in need of transgenic food to feed the overpopulation, in addition to more pesticides for less losses - while the richest may opt for organic foods.
Besides that, scientists have alerted that around 33% of worldwide plant and animal life could disappear by 2070 if nations don't act to reign in global carbon emissions - and if it continues unabated as they have for the last few decades, the species extinction rate could jump to 55%. Tragically, it may be impossible to avoid this scenario altogether, but according to a study performed by researchers from the University of Arizona, if governments adhere to the guidelines they set out for themselves in the Paris Climate Agreement (PCA), the number of plant and animal species that go extinct could be cut to "just" 16%.
This alarm makes the preservation of the Amazon and all Brazilian forests essential!
Brazil's biodiversity is incredibly good not only for the planet, but for the country itself, because, in addition to providing a valuable quality of life for Brazilians, it promotes tourism - which represents an important segment of the Brazilian economy - and other investments attracted by these characteristics, as well as by companies that value the environment.
Considering these issues, we ask Federal Government of Brazil to expand investments in affordable housing, basic sanitation, health and education - also implementing a universal basic income for vulnerable people: requiring, however, a vasectomy / endoceptive for those who already have one child (two children per couple) and want to benefit from the income.
We also ask a lifetime fine to the middle and upper classes, proportional to income, from the third child onwards - in order to help supply these needs and to protect the gorgeous environment of Brazil.
The planet needs to breathe and all humans need quality of life - including Brazilians.
