Require Designated Truck Parking Everywhere

Require Designated Truck Parking Everywhere

The Issue

Truck drivers are constantly being discriminated against to the point that they're being denied convenient healthy food, they have to spend more money on over priced items at truck accommodating travel centers, and female truck drivers are put in awkward situations when they need to stop immediately for health reasons. Drivers in general, are being denied basic human rights to affordable food and healthcare products because of the size of their vehicle.
Truck Drivers should have every right to eat, shop, and patronize the stores and spaces they normally would outside of their workday.
I am petitioning the federal government (FMCSA) to require establishments, when re-striping or building new parking lots, to incorporate, at minimum, 1 tractor-trailer stall per 30 standard stalls in every parking lot in the USA. Including safe accessibility of the truck to enter, exit, and maneuver into said stall.  Also, establishments whose parking lots are already largely and safely accessible to tractor-trailers, but anti-truck signage has been placed preventing customers in who arrive via tractor trailer.... should be required to remove the signs, as they are bias and offensive.
This would be for customers only, not over-night parking.  For instance, only during 30 minute mandatory rest breaks, or to run in and purchase a coffee, snack, tampons, etc. This will keep truck driver customers out of the receiving area, out of standard parking stalls, it gives them access to products of their choosing instead of the limited items at truck stops,  and creates a larger customer base for the establishment. I sometimes see half of a parking lot with no vehicles parked, but trucks are forbidden although there’s room for a dozen of them. Truck drivers are everywhere and everyone benefits from them in one way or another. So why are they being denied basic access to their favorite restaurants, stores etc.? This needs to change.

I’d like to think those establishments who are currently accommodating to customers who arrive by tractor-trailer. We appreciate you.
