Today is Wild Koala, a day to honour one of Australia's iconic Endangered species.

In 2016, to highlight the plight of our precious koalas, a network of passionate, independent Koala conservation and rehabilitation groups throughout Australia, started Wild Koala Day.

Since European arrival, Koalas have lost an estimated 80% of their habitat.
The impact of this loss has been enormously detrimental to our unique Koalas and it continues to be so with the ongoing destruction, disturbance and modification to their precious habitat.

Despite what some still believe, every single tree lost in a Koala corridor and wider Koala habitat, is a big loss for Koalas and many other species. This includes Gliders, Flying Foxes, Possums, Birds, and the ground-dwelling species also reliant on this shared habitat.

In celebration of Wild Koala Day, Community Conservation group, Care4esK, have announced a fund-raiser on their Care4esK Facebook page, to help fund their ongoing voluntary Koala rescue work and projects. Please support this if you can. Alternatively, if you would like to offer a donation, reach out via the Facebook page. Any assistance is always greatly appreciated.

Wild Koala Day is the perfect day to plant a Koala food tree, sign a petition to protect habitat, or contact a politician to show them that we do care about Koalas, and that more needs to be done to ensure better protections for their future survival.

Our native Flora and Fauna species deserve our respect and need our support.
We can never give up because,
We need Nature as much as Nature needs us.

As always, we thank you for your support.
Please keep sharing this petition.
