Thank you for your continued support.
We greatly appreciate that you too care for the wonderful native Flora and Fauna and precious Ecosystems of our Environment.

With the Care4esK/AELA Koala Research Project, (KHaRES), scheduled to be underway in the next few days, the President of Care4esK shared some thoughts on their Facebook page regarding the Threatened Brush-tailed Rock Wallabies present here on Mount Glen Rock.
It's a simple reminder of the importance to protect ALL our native Flora and Fauna species from any unnecessary developments that threaten their ability to survive and thrive now, and into the future.

See Post below...

"We can all agree that Koalas are cute. But if you ever have the good fortune of seeing a Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby in the wild, I'm sure you'll agree that their cuteness is off the scale!

Care4esK has previously spoken of the asset that is Mount Glen Rock.
But there are 'finer assets' within this asset.

They are the Flora and Fauna of Mount Glen Rock, including the elusive Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby.

Having lived in the Region for many decades, I personally have seen much decline in our local Fauna.

There comes a time when we need to cease wanting what 'we' want and begin thinking what the generations to come may want.

I firmly believe that the preservation of our unique Australian Flora and Fauna in their natural habitats, will be of paramount importance for these future generations.

Stories about how decision makers were allowed to decimate our native species, is not an ideal topic for future conversation.

Care4esK continues to be a voice for the recognition, respect, and protection of our own Brush-tailed Rock Wallabies here on Mount Glen Rock.

As we have previously stated, 'Brushies' are one of the 21 Threatened Mammal species, prioritised by our Federal Government.
These Threatened species have threat abatement plans to protect and preserve them and their habitats.

The Commonwealth Government is currently developing a national program of research and national monitoring protocols, to better support and understand our Threatened species.

Interestingly, along with predation, drought and fires, habitat modification due to tourism developments, is one of the threats listed by the Government, as impacting the Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby.

As an advocate for the protection and preservation of our local Flora, Fauna and Ecosystems, Care4esK will continue to be a voice for the voiceless.

The Threatened Species Action Plan 2022-2032 from the Commonwealth Government states that...

'Successful conservation relies on collaboration. The knowledge, support and engagement of dedicated individuals, volunteers, First Nations people, community groups and the business sector are integral for the successful conservation of Australia’s Threatened species and Ecosystems'

Let's get behind our Brushies and collaborate to ensure that their future on Mount Glen Rock is secure.

Let's be their voice and lobby strongly for their protection."

Please keep sharing our petition...
