I recently wrote to my local member of federal parliament expressing my concerns on the amount of online betting adds on both TV and radio, especially during major sporting events. His response was the usual toe the line government response of which was pretty lame and had no substance to it as those who watched the 2020 AFL grand final, betting adds came on in each add break thick and fast. Below is the Governments reply to this:

In 2018, further restrictions were applied to the showing of gambling promotions during live sporting events broadcast on commercial television, commercial radio, subscription television and the Special Broadcasting Service. I have also recently noticed an increase in these companies promoting online betting and so what is this Government doing about it - absolutely nothing. 

So please help me by signing this petition and helping me eradicate this disease that is sucking more and more people into a hole that they cannot get of.
