Repeal the Children's Television Act

Repeal the Children's Television Act
The Issue
The Children's Television Act has made cartoons no longer air on Saturday Mornings on the Local Television Networks. (NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, The CW) Since the Children's Television Act makes those channels air 3 hours of Educational and Informative programming every Saturday this would mean that we instead get news and educational reality shows. We should not need this because there are still some children who have no access to Cable and Satellite TV as well as streaming services. Millions of children across the United States already get educated from Monday through Friday for 7 and a half hours a day which is more than 37 hours a week, whether it's home school or regular school.
We ask for the FCC to repeal or abolish the Children's Television Act since the law is outdated as more people are cancelling cable and satellite for Over The Air TV. We don't want News and Reality shows about Home Improvement or Animals on Saturday Mornings. Most of the shows do not target children but they do target adults. Kids want to watch their favorite cartoons every Saturday Morning on every weekend so that they can be entertained after a long week at school. Saturday Morning Cartoons was a tradition for a few generations before this time and we would like that to continue for kids and their families.
Help us out by signing this petition for future generations and beyond just for kids and their families to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons.
