Petition for FearsomeFire to reupload Super Mario Odyssey videos unlisted

The Issue

FearsomeFire is a YouTube content creator who started out by making videos almost exclusively about Super Mario Odyssey. Many of these videos were very informative and useful to the Odyssey community, whether they were explanations, glitch showcases, or challenge videos. Many of these contain information that still holds up very well, and the ones that don't are useful for historical reasons.

After a while, FearsomeFire changed the direction of his channel to focus more on stream highlight videos (focusing on Odyssey as well as other games), and eventually stopped producing pre-recorded Odyssey content.

In January this year, FearsomeFire permanently deleted his channel due to mental health issues, and took a break from YouTube. In late June, he began re-uploading his stream highlight videos to a new channel, but he did not re-upload his original Odyssey videos.

This petition is for FearsomeFire to re-upload these Odyssey videos, likely as unlisted (so they do not clutter his channel for the general audience, which is more interested in stream highlights).

I personally messaged FearsomeFire about this; he seemed a bit reluctant and said he would "think about it". It's possible that he doesn't think people would find them useful. By signing this petition you are showing him that you're interested.

FearsomeFire showed on his stream in April that he still has every single one of his videos saved on his computer. It should be very easy for him to re-upload these now that YouTube supports uploading multiple videos at once simply by dragging and dropping a collection of files.

These videos would have many uses for the Odyssey community:

  • Some of his videos explained how to perform certain glitches – these would be great for learning how to do them
  • Some videos explained theorized speedrun tricks, and are very interesting for those who want to know more about Odyssey
  • Odyssey now has a speedrunning wiki, and these videos would be great supplements to the reading to put on certain pages!
  • Many of the challenges he did would be great for newer players to try – for fun or to help build their skill in the game
  • The older videos could give insight into the history of Odyssey glitches and speedrun tricks
