Most of us have faced difficulty in purchasing loose tablets instead of an entire strip from chemists, even though our prescription requires only a few.  "As per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, a chemist has to dispense the medicines as prescribed by a qualified physician. The term 'as prescribed' means that if the doctor has written a course of six tablets for three days, the chemist should cut the six tablets from the strip and give them, instead of selling the entire strip,"  However most of the chemists do not follow this & rather insist on selling the full strip of medicine.  This is a corrupt practice & very inconvenient, especially for Poor People who can hardly afford the medicine & due to this malpractice they have to rather buy a full strip which is of No use to them. 

I faced a similar issue with Apollo Pharmacy, MedPlus and Sai Care Medicos, whereby they refused to sell the cut strip to me.  I called the police & only after the intervention of Police the chemist gave me the required no. of medicines.  I have recorded the whole video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3HGa-NYusI&feature=youtu.be  This is a regular malpractice by chemists & is inconvenience for the customers, especially poor customers who cannot afford to pay for excess medicines.  Let's support this Petition so that we can end this malpractice & corruption by the chemists
