This petition has been drawn to help Sway and convince FCA to release vast quantities of vehicle identification numbers for car collectors, car enthusiast, and car preservationists. In the hopes of retaining information of production numbers, quantity of vehicles produced in  various colors, options, production and delivery locations, Inservice Dates, and Dealer ordering option codes.

The Vehicle Identification Numbers  their are publicly displayed on every vehicle through the windshield making the VINs non secretive and available for public knowledge and use.  

As the years progress, fewer and fewer vehicles remain in the public eye. Some reasons for lack of information  will be as followed  vehicles have been wrecked , parted out,  used as race cars ,  destroyed in wrecking yards,  or  are used as a demonstration vehicles  and not being registered . This makes it challenging to keep adequate production numbers options and build  information on hand. With the release of the vehicle identification numbers will be allowed to fulfill the request of the car enthusiasts, preservations, and collectors alike.

The information collected from these vehicle identification numbers will not contain any owner or operator information, and will strictly be used for gathering information on the stated above.
