Fathers rights/Equal parenting

The Issue

In many societies, fathers are often denied the basic right to maintain contact with their children after separation or divorce.

Fathers are often overlooked in child custody battles, with mothers typically receiving primary custody.

This imbalance is not only unfair to the fathers but also detrimental to the children who benefit immensely from equal parenting.

Every father should have an equal opportunity and right to maintain regular contact with his child. However, there are instances where mothers unjustly deny their children's fathers access.

It is a fundamental right of every child to have access to both parents, yet nearly 1 in 3 children now lives without a father in the UK(Office of National Statics).

According to a study published in the Journal of Family Psychology, children who spend at least 35% of their time with each parent, rather than living solely with one and visiting the other, have better relationships and lower levels of stress (Journal of Family Psychology).

According to research by Nielsen (2018), children who have strong relationships with both parents fare better emotionally, academically, socially and successful life.

Legal consequences needs to be implemented for mothers who unjustly deny fathers access to their children without any substantiated reasons. These consequences could include fines or even jail time in cases where this denial has caused significant harm.

Regulations regarding parental rights post-separation or divorce needs to be reviewed and changed to ensure and promote equality and fairness for all parties involved.

By signing this petition, you are advocating for equal parental rights and promoting healthier family dynamics that prioritise a child's well-being over personal disputes between parents.

My personal story and fight for justice has led me to start a petition for all the fathers who are being mis treated by the justice system and told to just put up with it because they are men:
I am a father of 3 beautiful children. Two children from my previous relationship that I have been fighting to gain access to in court.

Even though i have 50% custody of my children, the mother of my two children consistently and deliberately denied me access to them, for no good reasons.

According to the court system, I should not be denied access to my children and my rights are equal to the mother's. Nevertheless, courts and the justice system continue to prove that fathers do not have the same rights as mothers.
When visitation was violated or seeing my children was denied, the mother has never been held accountable for doing so. This is 11 years of visitation violations and having sporadic visitations without any other choice. There are times I don't see my children for months! My children deserve to have the court arrangements met and respected by both my self and my previous partner.
I want to urge the justice system and the court to look at the best interest of the children, which is to take and make both parents accountable and when arrangements are set for both parents to take them seriously.
