The internet speed at the new 45 Mann Residence is actually way slower than eduroam, university's main internet. Even when connected via an ethernet cable, the speed benchmarks do not exceed 40mbps, and wireless speed is around 15mbps, which is less than half of what is offered under eduroam. With this speed, even connecting to websites becomes a struggle, and downloading anything almost becomes impossible. It can take hours for even Microsoft Office to download.

Moreover, the daily download limit is nowhere near enough for downloading apps on a new computer setup.

We, as the University of Ottawa community, request to see an increased internet speed, higher daily download limit, as well as less internet throttling for bandwidth allocation to downloads
