I would like to petition for people who live with FASC
The Issue
I would like to passionately and educate our citizens of Canada especially Ontario including Hamilton
I would like to educate our government our justice system our health care professionals including psychiatric doctors nurses family doctors etc.
we need to educate our police officers and everyone who is affected by FASD this debilitating invisible disability is Global economic crisis and burden on our society as a whole as well as our world! Facts in regards to FASD Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder
1. 3000 babies a year are born with FASD
2. 300,000 people are estimated to be living with FASD
3. FASD can be prevented if mother's don't drink
4. their are facial deformities
5. their are skeletal deformities
6. organ problems such as heart and kidney and other organ problems
7. People who live with this disability FASD has a life expectancy of 34 year's old
8. 55% are incarcerated
9. 86% cannot live independently
10. The list goes on and on
FASD can be 100% prevented if woman don't drink alcohol
No Safe time No safe kind No safe amount is safe for the babies FASD is a umbrella term which means there are different types of FASD

The latest studies estimate that 40,000 infant's are born each year with Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders FASD 1 out of every 100 births in th US
FASD takes an enormous financial toll on effected families and society as a whole
FASD alone costs the united states 5.4 billion annually in direct and indirect costs an individual with full blown FAS incur an average life time health cost of 860,000 although costs can be as high as 4.2 million
Costs associated with FAS are just the tip of the ice berg it is estimated to be much higher
Direct costs associated with FAS estimated at 3.9 billion annually, include not only health care costs but costs associated with social services and incarceration
70% of children are in foster care as a result of FASD in varying degrees
As a result of Mother's drinking habits Health effects include
