Like so many other Brits and Commonwealth transplants, our search for a good sausage roll, Cornish pasty or English breakfast sausage in America has proven both painful and fruitless.

We are two Brits who have started a British Bakery here in the Bay Area, Mrs Miggins British Bakery. We specialise in original English recipe items like sausage rolls, Cornish pasties, chicken and mushroom, cheese and onion and all the other proper pies and pasties. We've a host of sweeter items like sticky toffee, real cherry bakewells, Yorkshire tea cakes, millionaires shortbread and proper English scones for a tip top tea or pudding. Depending on the season we'll have a changing specials menu of things like delicious hot cross buns, mince pies and Christmas cakes.

We produce our own perfectly spiced and seasoned (even if we do say so ourselves!) sausage meat blend from local pasture raised heritage pigs and that is, we are told is - bang on the money. Sausages and back bacon for a bonafide Full English will also be on the menu.

The hard part is done, we have the commercial kitchen, the business is insured and registered and are ready to sell our stuff! Now we need to get our product to you!

Farmers markets are notoriously hard to get a pitch in, and Market Managers understandably need to be sure that the vendors they pick for their precious stalls are going to be popular and help their markets thrive.

Unfortunately, most Americans don't know the true joy of a sausage roll or cheese and onion pasty. They may understandably not be initially inclined to take a punt on these strange puffed up rolls of sausagey deliciousness, their curious looking pasty cousins or oddly named mince pies that don't contain actual meat (ew, gross). They may think "we've never heard of this stuff, who's going to buy it?"

So please sign our petition to convince Market Managers that there are many, many hungry customers who will come to their market especially just to get their hands on a proper sausage roll or British classics. The more signatures we get, the better our chances of getting a spot!
