**** STUDENTS HAVE UNTIL May 6th 2020 to APPEAL this action -so we APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL of your voices.

Fanshawe College PSW students 19F term are being held back from receiving proper certification. Due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding COVID-19, community placements have been put on hold. What this means for students is that for many of us who only had 2 weeks left of time to put in- we are now in the dark. We(the student body) have been offered (by Fanshawe College) to seek employment, however without proper credentials. If Fanshawe decides to resume where we left off in our community placements, that will mean that many of us will have to temporarily leave our current agency (employer).  

So why do we (the students) want you to care? We want to be on the frontline in such a crucial time. We have made the commitment to our roles as PSWs, passed all practical skills, and many of us are actively employed with agencies (conditionally as we have no certificate still!) This is a frightening time for everybody. All we ask as students is to receive the proper paperwork, in order to protect ourselves and our community.
