Conjugal visit/Family visit is a scheduled period of time where the inmate is allow time with kids and spouse for a couple of hours or even 2 days. Right now only 4 states allow these types of visitation. Those are Connecticut, New York, California and Washington.

I believe the state of Texas should allow these visits for spouse/family’s. We all have been through so much these last couple of years with Covid to monkeypox, many deaths many worried family member thinking we will never be able to be with our loved one. We don’t know what the next years will bring, but I feel Conjugal visit will help keep inmates force on the goal to get home to their family/spouse. These visit will even help with inmate behavior they continue to have more good days plus those who have these visit end up going home on parole first, studies show that when inmate gets a visit it make them feel loved and not alone. These visits are not just about wanted to have more time with our loved one but it helps with stress and depression for both inmate and family. Children especially because they will be able to see either mom or dad for more then just 2 hours without the rules of not running around or not enough time to play. It’s hard for inmates with children and not being able to spend Quality time while they grow so fast. The prisons or facilities are already isolating them from the world, we all understand they are there for a reason but they are human beings with the right to see immediate family and spouse immediate family for longer time.

Especially inmates serving long time this will help prevent suicide, fights and self harm. Plus it will allow them to be able to get back in Society easier, I believe this will help a lot  with population in prison too. Most of all inmate will behave to have these visits, you will see improve in all these facilities. It will keep the bond of love and family together longer.
