Tamil Nadu is witnessing an alarming rise in fake news, misinformation, and politically motivated propaganda across social media platforms. Every day, citizens are exposed to manipulated videos, edited speeches, false claims, and misleading posts that falsely portray government actions, distort public facts, and even claim the achievements of previous governments as current accomplishments.

This is no longer just a political issue. It is a public issue.

 

The scale at which misinformation is being spread has made it increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens to identify what is true and what is fabricated. Social media pages and anonymous accounts continuously circulate misleading content that influences public opinion through deception rather than truth.

Fake news affects democracy. It affects public trust. It affects the ability of citizens to make informed decisions.

We are demanding immediate and stronger action against the spread of misinformation and fake news in Tamil Nadu.

Our Demands

1. Establish an independent state-level fact-checking mechanism accessible to the public.
2. Strengthen cybercrime action against accounts and networks repeatedly spreading false information knowingly.
3. Ensure faster reporting and removal systems in collaboration with social media companies.
4. Introduce public awareness campaigns on identifying misinformation and digital manipulation.
5. Increase transparency in political advertisements and sponsored online propaganda.
6. Hold repeat offenders accountable under existing legal frameworks related to misinformation and public deception.

 

This petition is not against any political party or ideology. It is about protecting truth, democracy, and the people of Tamil Nadu from organized misinformation.Citizens deserve facts, not manipulation.

We urge the authorities to act before misinformation causes irreversible damage to public trust and democratic discourse.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் சமூக வலைதளங்கள் மூலம் போலி செய்திகள், தவறான தகவல்கள், மற்றும் அரசியல் நோக்கத்துடன் பரப்பப்படும் பிரச்சாரங்கள் மிகவும் அதிகரித்துள்ளன. தினமும் மக்கள் திருத்தப்பட்ட வீடியோக்கள், பொய்யான தகவல்கள், மாற்றப்பட்ட உரைகள், மற்றும் உண்மைக்கு புறம்பான பதிவுகளை சந்தித்து வருகின்றனர்.

சில பதிவுகள் அரசு எடுக்காத நடவடிக்கைகளையே எடுத்ததாக கூறுகின்றன. சில பதிவுகள் முந்தைய அரசுகளின் சாதனைகளை தற்போதைய ஆட்சியின் சாதனைகளாக மாற்றி பரப்புகின்றன.

இது வெறும் அரசியல் பிரச்சனை அல்ல. இது மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையையும் ஜனநாயகத்தையும் பாதிக்கும் ஒரு பெரிய சமூக பிரச்சனை.

இந்த அளவிற்கு தவறான தகவல்கள் பரவுவதால், பொதுமக்களுக்கு உண்மை எது, பொய் எது என்பதை கண்டறிவது மிகவும் கடினமாகியுள்ளது. பெயரில்லா சமூக வலைதள கணக்குகள் மற்றும் சில பிரச்சார பக்கங்கள் திட்டமிட்டு தவறான தகவல்களை பரப்பி மக்களின் கருத்துகளை பாதித்து வருகின்றன.

போலி செய்திகள் ஜனநாயகத்தை பாதிக்கின்றன. மக்களின் நம்பிக்கையை பாதிக்கின்றன.

ஆகையால் தமிழ்நாட்டில் போலி செய்திகள் மற்றும் தவறான தகவல் பரப்புக்கு எதிராக அரசு உடனடி மற்றும் கடுமையான நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று நாங்கள் கோருகிறோம்.

 

எங்களின் கோரிக்கைகள்

1. பொதுமக்கள் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடிய சுயாதீன உண்மை சரிபார்ப்பு அமைப்பை உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.
2. திட்டமிட்டு தவறான தகவல்களை பரப்பும் கணக்குகள் மீது சைபர் கிரைம் பிரிவு கடுமையான நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.
3. சமூக வலைதள நிறுவனங்களுடன் இணைந்து போலி தகவல்களை விரைவாக அகற்றும் அமைப்பை உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.
4. போலி செய்திகளை அடையாளம் காண்பது குறித்து மக்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு பிரச்சாரங்களை நடத்த வேண்டும்.
5. அரசியல் விளம்பரங்கள் மற்றும் சமூக வலைதள பிரச்சாரங்களில் வெளிப்படைத்தன்மை கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்.
6. தொடர்ந்து தவறான தகவல்களை பரப்புபவர்களுக்கு சட்டப்படி நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.

 

இந்த மனு எந்த ஒரு அரசியல் கட்சிக்கும் எதிரானது அல்ல. இது உண்மை, ஜனநாயகம், மற்றும் தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்களின் நலனைக் காக்கும் ஒரு முயற்சி.

மக்களுக்கு தேவையானது உண்மை — ஏமாற்றம் அல்ல.
