Thoreau Middle School is one of the FCPS schools that does not allow phones to be used in school even for academic purposes and emergency contact. I feel like the school board should have a policy regarding the use of phones in all of their schools that addresses certain conditions and emergency contact. I suppose they should let kids have their phones on them for academic purposes and for emergency contact, but should punish kids for using them inappropriately. This will help kids learn and feel safer in their school environment. Kids should want to go to school and look forward to having a fun day, they shouldn't be dreadful at school. This will help create an environment where kids can learn and have fun at the same time. Sign this petition if you agree with my message. You don't have to be a student to sign this petition.
