Fair Treatment for English River First Nation Members

Fair Treatment for English River First Nation Members
The Issue
As a member of the English River First Nation (ERFN), I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and fair treatment from our Chief and Council. Recently, ERFN signed Treaty 10 with a mining company (DNG) without consulting all band members. This decision has caused division within our community, as some members feel that they were not given the opportunity to agree or disagree with this decision.
Furthermore, ERFN is now requesting that band members vote on a full payment option of cows and ploughs (Agriculture Benefit Claim) during ratification week. However, there are concerns about how this money will be divided amongst individuals. It is crucial that all band members have equal access to these resources.
Therefore, we call upon the Chief and Council of ERFN to offer a full payment option of cows and ploughs at the ratification vote. We also demand that these resources be divided equally amongst all individuals in our community.
Additionally, we urge ERFN's leadership to be transparent with all matters involving band members moving forward. This includes consulting with all individuals before making any decisions that affect our community.
We believe that by working together in an open and honest manner, we can build a stronger future for everyone in English River First Nation. Please sign this petition if you support fair treatment for all ERFN members.
