Fair Go: Stop the Victorian Government compulsory acquisition of Great Ocean Road farmland

The issue

The Victorian Government plan to compulsorily acquire 32 hectares of farmland in Princetown on the Great Ocean Road to build tourism facilities similar to ones that the land owners made an application to build 4 years ago.

Similarly to the movie, 'The Castle', the compulsory acquisition involves the forceful takeover of private land, but there's a significant difference in this case that because it's the State Government, there is no High Court appeal process available.

It's not just.

Additionally, if the State Government plan goes ahead it will likely mean that 12 Apostles Helicopters will be unable to operate out of the site, crippling their business, removing a significant tourism activity and reducing a significant stream of tax revenue.
