Stop making "exclusives" for the Oculus Store - Keep VR Cross-compatible.

The Issue

As a VR-enthusiast, an Oculus Rift DK1 owner, and as someone who is pre-ordering the Oculus Rift CV1, I feel virtual reality should be open and cross-compatible.

Rather than fighting, the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive communities should work together, pushing VR forward as a whole. Doing this would bring more attention to virtual reality, as well as its headset designers. This would also allow for either headset to purchase from either store, rather than limiting either community.

Currently there is a problem where the Oculus Store offers exclusive games. As I've come to understand, it is because Oculus has directly funded the creation of these games.

That being said, there has been a growing divide in the community, suggesting that Oculus is trying to fragment the VR industry and to "garden wall" itself, keeping exclusives for itself.

While I won't blame Oculus for not offering its own games at 1:1 price on other headsets, I still petition to at least make them available. Whether there is a cost difference or not, allowing other headsets to purchase these games is still revenue for Oculus and it helps mend the divide in the VR industry.

Facebook, having a large hand in things with the child company, Oculus, is a wise company and should be able to solve this problem and, in some way, make these games available to other headsets or make them available for purchase so that players can at least use software to allow their headsets to function with them.
