Recently several writers myself included have been getting thrown into Facebook jail. This action is overly punitive. It prohibits indie Authors from interacting with fans and growing their businesses. I'm calling for an end to Facebook jail. There is no way to dispute why you are in Facebook jail or to have your sentence overturned. Also while serving your sentence you are prohibited from using the app to interact with friends and family we may be separated from due to the pandemic. Likewise you cannot use the app to maintain social connections such as trivia nights on Facebook groups. 

I was recently thrown into Facebook jail two days after completing an earlier stint in Facebook jail. Neither offense was fully explained. I was simply told a prior post violated community standards. Surely deleting the post would be punishment enough. My most recent sentence was imposed for violating the community standards by sharing a friendship video Facebook made. I was essentially informed I had violated their community standards by sharing a video Facebook made. How is that possible? I was never given a reply. Also the stress caused me to suffer gastrointestinal bleeding. Which is not okay. 

Stress from being unable to use an app I loved and be further isolated from family and friends and fans during a pandemic not only caused gastrointestinal bleeding but worsened my depression and anxiety and Autism and Suicidal Ideation. Also not okay. I no longer feel safe using the Facebook app. 

When I heard it was happening to others I knew I had to take action. I demand Facebook discontinue the practice of Facebook jail and only delete posts and pictures of posts and pictures found in violation of community standards as the sole punitive measure.

People need to access their accounts and all of Facebook's features in these unprecedented pandemic times. 

By signing below we are saying in a united voice that Facebook must end Facebook jail immediately!!!! I don't know that I'll ever feel safe using the app again until I know Facebook jail won't ever be a concern again.
