REMOVE videos of CHILD ABUSE from Facebook ONE BY ONE

REMOVE videos of CHILD ABUSE from Facebook ONE BY ONE

The Issue

The video that sparked this petition is a video of a Malaysian woman abusing her baby. It is an old video and it was only uploaded a year after the Mother was convicted. It should never have been shared as it is criminal evidence. It is very disturbing and the NSPCC and CEOP have also heard of it and want it removed. It was removed from Facebook on the 26th June, but then restored on the 27th as Facebook. It very clearly does breach standards and something needs to be done.

In June 2015 a video has emerged of a baby being horrifically tortured. Facebook have described it as Baby yoga and refuse to take it down. The millions of shares, tweets and re-tweets are basically profit making for Facebook. This needs to be removed. The Mirror and This Morning have discussed the video and I can see that there are many people that share the same view as me. Please help by signing this petition.

It has come to light when petitioning that there are other videos that show scenes of child abuse that Facebook fail to review properly, so this petition will continue, and we hope that Facebook will do something so these videos, if uploaded are removed quicker (before being shared hundreds or thousand times) and stopped from getting into the wrong hands, or causing so much upset

Why should videos of child abuse be removed?

-          Child abuse videos are evidences of a crime, and the NSPCC and CEOP also urge us NOT TO SHARE.

-          If the police needed the public’s help to find perpetrator, they would have released stills rather than the video.

-          These videos are  very disturbing and upsetting many people, including children. There are safer ways of raising awareness.

-          These videos get shared at alarming rates, and are getting into the wrong hands; there are individuals getting enjoyment out of the abuse that the child is being subjected to. If not removed, it is also very likely  the video will still being shared and will haunt that child and his/her friends and family as they get older.

-          These videos  also causes flash backs for individuals that suffer with PTSD as a result of child abuse.

-          These videos breach Facebook community standards, including encouraging hate speech, and the legalities of sharing.

We can make a difference, Facebook need to review videos and remove them if they breech standards. By signing and sharing this petition, I am sure we can make Facebook a safer and more pleasant environment for our friends, family and children, and for the future.
