Petition to make Michelle Gregg pay for Harambe's death

The Issue

On May 28th, 2016, a negligent mother allowed her four year old child to fall into the gorilla exibit at the Cincinatti Zoo in Ohio. That exibit was recent home to Harambe, a 17 year old-nearly extinct-Silverback gorilla. Harambe pulled the child through water but also held its hand and ushered the child away from the screaming crowd. "It seemed to be protecting the child, not hurting it," said witness Brittany Nicely. The zoo then decided to shoot Harambe in the head rather than lure it away from the child. In sistuations like this, a zookeeper usually negotiates with it to get it away from the child. They might get a piece of fruit or a treat to lure the animal away, but no such negotiations happened. The life expectancy of this gorilla was 60 years old. It was murdered at seventeen, the day after its birthday. If Michelle Gregg had been paying attention to her child, Harambe never would have been killed. Now she is threatening to sue the zoo rather than feel remorse for the gorilla. Please sign this petition to make Michelle Gregg of Cincinatti pay for the expenses of Harambe's death, even if it means forking over money to replace the gorilla. Thank you!
