Many Instagram users aren’t happy with Instagram’s new feature of reels and the shop replacing the original new post button and notification button.

The reels and the shop both seem like great features to add however, these would be more beneficial next to direct message button (where the current new post and notification buttons are). I’m hoping to reach out to as many people as possible to be able to change the format back to how it was originally in the bar at the bottom of the Instagram app.

I don’t see the reels and the shop feature to be as important as the post create button and the notification buttons. Instagram’s most used features are being degraded and have been replaced by features that copy other social media platforms. You don’t see TikTok or Twitter making drastic changes to their user interfaces. 

From a personal perspective, I have been a user of Instagram for a long time now. I’ve seen the development of how Instagram has changed from post filters, to direct messages, to Instagram stories and have had a lot of appreciation for the layout of the app and it’s improving functionality. These new features however seem out of place and have been annoying many users.
