Many people have experience their social media accounts taken from them in the blink of an eye. It may not seem like a big deal but social media is a big part of many peoples lives. As some people work from it, or simply post content that holds value, such as living and deceased love ones, memories and personal connections. Instagram doesn’t really help retrieve stolen accounts. And once the hackers take a page, everyone close to that hacked person is now in jeopardy of becoming the next victim just simply by opening a direct message. It says that they have doubled up the security but once your account is hacked you’re on your own. There needs to be a way that after the hacker steals and deletes your content, you can retrieve it and restore it. A safety net or backup cloud of some sort to ensure we won’t lose those memories. Without us Instagram and other platforms would be billion dollar companies. So let’s apply some pressure to make us feel comfortable enough to continue to post ourselves on these platforms that constantly make money off of us. Something needs to change.
