Netflix is canceling The Last Kingdom with series 5 now taping. This series is about the Danes and Saxons around 800 AD and how a young Saxon boy Uhtred was kidnapped by the Danes after they killed his father and his uncle took over Bebbanburg Castle when Uhtred was the rightful heir. The story revolves around the boy becoming a man who is in turmoil because he has allegiance to both the Saxons and the Danes. He is a skilled swordsman and also has many liaisons. The series is based on Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Series. There are so many wonderful stories.  It shows how King Alfred is trying to make one United Kingdom which is England. He goes to war to save kingdoms that the Danes are trying to invade. Uhtred swears his loyalty to King Alfred and helps conquer the Danes in many battles. However his loyalty is not reciprocated. The way the series is written one feels they have an intimate relationship with most of the actors and are shock when one is killed. I noticed on YouTube how many viewers felt the way I did when I heard the series would end with Season 5. I’m hoping since the series is now taping that this petition will make an impact and change the Networks mind and continue with series. And will keep many viewers tuned in.
