Stop deleting pictures and group pages for Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

The Issue

This is a very important cause because people go to these pages for support and for education, not just for themselves, but also to educate their friends, family etc. We should be able to post pictures of what this disease does to us emotionally and physically. Also just to let other people know the extent of this disease and how it impacts our lives.

“We are heartened and encouraged to see Facebook being used to raise awareness and support the community affected by this disease. By uploading photos, joining groups, and engaging with different organizations, those affected are able to share and connect on an important topic, and we are thrilled they are using Facebook to do so. To be clear, there are absolutely no policies directed at hidradenitis suppurativa. When it comes to uploaded photos on Facebook, the vast majority of those containing instances of hidradenitis supprativa comply with our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. However, there have been some occasions, where photos contain nudity, specifically exposed genitalia. When such photos are reported to us and are found to violate our policies, the person who posted the photo is contacted and the photos are removed. Our policies strive to fit the needs of a diverse community while respecting everyone's interest in sharing content that is important to them, including experiences related to hidradenitis suppurativa. ”
