Petition updateStop the Quiet Skies NorCal/FAA proposal to move SERFR NextGen flight path to SC/SLV/SVFeb 2 flight path switch to BSR is temporary - need action

On February 2, without notification to citizens or regional electeds, the FAA authorized a shift of SERFR’s airplane traffic to BSR. This shift drove thousands of new complaints due to the addition of up to 180* airplanes per day over our communities, often sequencing one right after the other late into the night.
Airport officials attribute the cause to a chart printing error related to the implementation of the new SERFR 3 path originally scheduled for February 1, then pushed out to March 29.
The Notice to Airmen (NOTAM, see below) shows February 2 start and April 2 end dates to this temporary shift, however SFO officials indicate the end date could be as early as March 1. The path will then shift back to SERFR with added improvements which should bring relief to those residents.
The bad news is that this temporary move shows the falsehood of Quiet Skies NorCal and Save Our Skies claims that BSR, a legacy path used years ago, will be whisper quiet and generate no complaints. Additionally, any new route over BSR would be a NextGen path with its increasing numbers (6% by 2019), concentrated path, and lower altitudes over our higher altitude communities.
It is important that we report the noise frequently so that the FAA and regional elected are aware of the problems of BSR that show it to be unacceptable as a solution for jet noise.
