Flight Path FactsUnited States

The FAA will implement adjustments to the SERFR path this Thursday, March 29 that should resolve jet noise for some residents. The new path, called SERFR 3 remains on the current track, and raises altitudes so that the route is contained in Class B airspace providing the opportunity for Optimized Profile Descent, or OPD, which is a quieter procedure. While this adjustment will provide relief in Santa Cruz County, it remains unclear what the impacts will be for residents closer to the airport. The FAA does not have a timeline on BSR, which the FAA has confirmed is not feasible specifically as recommended by the Select Committee. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/03/27/faa-sfo-flight-path-change-coming-thursday/
